Martha Brahm Private Chef Hawaii Big Island


After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Martha's career began as a Garde Manger at the Chase Park Plaza in St Louis.

Creativity, passion and skill resulted in numerous culinary incarnations including, Chef/Owner of a small French restaurant, TV Chef, event planner and caterer, bakery owner, food products designer and food stylist, to name but a few.

It's hardly surprising that the culmination of such diverse talents, coupled with an Honors Degree in Sustainable Economics and Sociology, would result in owning and operating numerous successful foodcentric businesses to this day including: Fascinating Foods Catering, La Tourelle and Brushmark Restaurants in Memphis, Tenessee, and The Hawaii Tart Company , Healthy Eatz and the French Bakery located here in Kona.

A weekend visit with her sister, a long time resident of the Big Island, Hawaii, left a lasting impression on Martha and soon drew her to the Big Island permanently.

Now, ten years later, Martha and her partner, Lynne Sharman, own Hawaii Tart Company, Mac Nut Grove Farm, and an exquisite tea garden in Volcano.

Chef Martha's two son's Matthew and Stephen Zilch have been catering with her since their early teens. Matthew, the oldest, is now the Executive Sous Chef for the Hawaii Tart Company and is an experienced Chef, Baker and server himself. Stephen, a recent graduate of the University of Hawaii in Hilo, is an experienced server and currently leads the market sales team..
